Personal Empowerment
To enter into the sacred presence of the Horse is to engage body, mind, and soul with the human psyche’s most ancient archetype of Beauty, Freedom, and Power. Every Equine Encounter is an invitation to step completely into the present moment and connect meaningfully with one’s own Self and with the Horse. Principled Horsemanship offers a path to your center of strength, where you find the humility and the courage to face and overcome fears and trauma; explore your potential for confident, compassionate leadership; express yourself honestly and authentically; problem solve creatively; and discover limitless possibilities for transformation both in and out of the riding arena. Personal Empowerment is not only the goal, but also the means, as well as the happy byproduct of the practice of Principled Horsemanship.

Leadership Training
The instinctual nature of the Horse is dependent upon reliable herd leadership. This reliance engenders the grateful and loving trust of the Horse in its human handler. The personal empowerment model of Principled Horsemanship offers experiential learning opportunities to explore leadership dynamics within oneself, with our equine partner, in interpersonal relationships, and in groups. The Horse, the participants, and the facilitator create a ‘dynamic feedback loop’ using observation, reflection, and team building exercises for transformational growth opportunities designed for youth, women, and men; couples; families; business and creative partnerships; corporate management teams; and sports, recreational, activist, or faith groups.

Principled Horsemanship
Principled Horsemanship is a practice of Holistic Horse Husbandry, founded on principles gleaned from a lifetime study of the Horse and the great Horse Masters of the ages, developed by internationally trained, certificated, and insured Instructor, Trainer, and Coach Tonya Grace. The Principled Horseperson rides ‘for the horse first’, prioritizing the horse’s care and training needs of as the handler’s primary responsibility, synchronizing the goals and circumstances of both partners in order to achieve the optimum physical and mental development of both equine and human partner. Each encounter begins ‘right where we’re at’ on a journey of mutual discovery to see ‘how far we can go’ when Horse and Handler dance together in harmonious movement and connected communication.
